Unlock My Heart was inspired by an old love letter from 1921 that I purchased from an antique store several years prior to making the piece. The old iron finial and lock became perfect focal points to pair with the letter in a box that was also found while antiquing. The box still appeared too empty after decoupaging the letter to the back so I searched for the right imagery to complete the look and found it at a little online shop in the Netherlands called Cemerony. Skeleton keys are always abundant in my supplies and I took great glee when one of the keys that I chose to include actually fit inside the lock! Old furniture tacks, chain, wire, a piece from a broken bracelet, and vintage small pedestal feet complete this piece that was one of the first I created.
